Ahmadinejad Scares Me

Simply put, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad scares me.  Why?  Because he is an arrogant man in charge of a soon to be (already?) nuclear capable armageddon focussed nation in the middle of the most violent part of the world.  Some may laugh away my concerns, but they are grounded in evidence of a man who has a hidden agenda looking to speed along his eschatology (belief about the end of the world).

As you likely know, Ahmadinejad claimed that he felt a embraced in a heavenly light when addressing the U.N. in September of 2005.  One of his aides reported that he saw the light, when told about it, Ahmadinejad replied:

“I felt it myself, too, that suddenly the atmosphere changed and for 27-28 minutes the leaders could not blink,” the transcript continues. “I am not exaggerating…because I was looking. All the leaders were puzzled, as if a hand held them and made them sit. They had their eyes and ears open for the message from the Islamic Republic.”

The very fact that this message comes from the “Islamic Republic” is scary.  Ahmadinejad is a member of the minority Shi’ite sect of Islam.  In this sect, there is a belief that a 12 Imam will return and after world carnage to usher in peace…of course, this peace involves totally submission to Islam and not doing so means your head will be peacefully cut off from the rest of your body.

Ahmadinejad questions the holocaust even took place; he wants Israel moved to Europe; and in a 60 minute interview,  he directly attacks the United States (something we are used to), pointing out our “arrogance”.  Interesting that this is coming from a man who many claim to be extremely self-righteous.  But why shouldn’t he?  He is Allah’s chosen one to usher in the 12th Imam.

In a previous post, I discussed oneIslamic belief that it is okay to lie as long as it promotes the spread of Islam.  Is Ahmadinejad lying about his intent with nuclear weapons?  Probably.  Anyone who believes to be a main character in worldly destruction (in order to “pave” the way for a supposed religious figure) would have no problem lying to the world…besides, as far as Ahmadinejad is concerned, he has Allah’s approval in any action (immoral included) as long as it means Islam is forced upon other individuals.

That is why Ahmadinejad scares me.

  1. You are completely sane to think the way you do. However, go back to Good Book.

There shall many that come in My name, but they are not Me.

Do not be afraid. Be informed, yes, but not afraid. What you are doing is good. You are educating those who would otherwise not know. If you would only lead them toward the Truth that God truly is in control, maybe you could find the Peace which we all crave. (Phil. 4:2-6.)

  2. I just added you to my blogroll. 😉

  3. What you did is right to bring awareness…but let us pray in unity for Peace…let us put our trust and faith on our awesome God…Let us be comforted by His wonders…

    Psalm 76:
16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid; the depths also were troubled:

17 The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.

18 The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.

19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

20 Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

And let Him be the judge of all men:

    Isaiah 5…

20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wise, and men of strength to mingle strong drink!

23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Isreal.

  4. Thanks for the words of comfort makarios

  5. I have posted extensively on Ahmadinejad — including posts covering the U.N. speech and his views on the return of the 12th imam and on the historicity of the Holocaust. You can click on the category “Ahmadinejad” on the left side of my blog to find all these posts.

  6. Justin – I’m enjoying your blog, and subscribed to it. You might find a post of mine interesting. It puts Ahmedinejad in context, a bit. He is quite a lot less powerful than he seems. Details here: A brief history of Iran-US relations, Part 2: Ahmedinejad, nukes, and weapons

  7. I’ll try the link again – not sure what went wrong! Sorry!
