This is the fourth installment of my series titled, “Analyzing Jesus”. So far, we have looked at the historical figure, looked to see if he was the Jewish Messiah, and looked at further evidence to analyze the authenticity of the Old Testament claims/prophecy of a the Messiah. Today we move on and begin to address another controversial subject in regards to Jesus… his miracles.

Russia Claims North Pole with Flag

What in the world are those Soviets doing? A little while ago, I posted a story about how Russia believes it is the sole owner of the North Pole (therefore giving them access to a vast amount of untapped oil). Well, today Putin and company went to a new low… real low… in fact, 13,980 feet low. Apparently Russia felt the need to plant a titanium, non-rusting flag at the bottom of the ocean floor. I guess they think that putting a flag there will let all of us (the rest of the world) know that it is theirs.

Mitt Romney Catches Flack over this Sign [Pic]

Not everyone is a fan of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, but comparing them to one of the most dastardly pieces of human excrement of all time — that might be bit much. Especially for a presidential candidate.

TMZ obtained photos of presidential candidate Mitt Romney trying to win over grammatically challenged South Carolinians Thursday by holding a sign that said, “No to Obama, Osama and Chelsea’s Moma.”

Become a Pedophile and Get Rich!

Some of you may be interested to know that if you become a child molester, you have the chance to become REAL rich! How is this so? Well, it all starts with Dateline’s most popular show, “To Catch a Predator”. If you have not seen this show, you are really missing out. The host lures in predators by myspace conversation. A date is set and they show up thinking they are about to have sex with a 13 year old boy/girl. When they show up, BAM, the camera crew comes out and interviews them. At anytime they can leave but as soon as they do the police arrest them. It’s beautiful. I love seeing these sick individuals get nabbed.

Okay, now that you are caught up, I can explain how you can get rich by being one of these sickos (or at least knowing one).

Apparently one man fell for the trap and showed up at what he thought was a 13yr old’s house, condoms ready. It looked like Dateline was about to bust another one of these guys. However, as soon as he saw the camera crew, he shot himself.

A tragic suicide to say the least, but what really gets under my skin is the fact that this man’s sister is trying to sue NBC for $100 million!! I will be beside myself if the justice system ends up ruling in favor for the sister of the man who intended to have sex with a minor. The sister of this man is blaming NBC for her brother’s suicide, which I believe is complete bull. Yes, he killed himself, but only because he knew he had been caught…

Let’s pretend that NBC stopped murderers, and in the process of catching one, he shot himself. Would it be okay for the family to blame NBC for the man’s suicide? Not a chance.

I can only hope that the jury uses their common sense on this one.

Gone for a Bit

I need some feedback on this Idea…

I’m in the process of creating an online community for clergy to utilize for their blogging.  I feel that there needs to be a centralized place for these individuals for discussion and support.  Anyway, let me know what you think.  I’m playing around with a logo and a name (Clergy Blogs, Pastor Blogs, Minister Blogs)…Something along those lines.  The community will also provide advice on how to promote the blog to the public and/or Church community.

 Let me know your thoughts…

Jesus doesn’t Save – the Pope does!

According to a document that was signed by Pope Benedict on Tuesday, if you are not a Catholic, you are not a Christian. I guess all of us ‘other’ believers are screwed.

I am pretty disappointed by Pope Benedict’s GIANT step backwards. Pope John-Paul did wonders for breaking down the barriers between religions; he often demonstrated the love and compassion that carried no distinction.

It is quite apparent that Benedict is not half the man or religious leader compared to John-Paul.

What the Pope is failing to realize is that the “church” is more than a building or institution, for those things are man-made. The “church” refers to those that are of Christ. Can you imagine dying and then being confronted by Jesus, “sorry, you were a ________, and we only accept Catholics”. It’s a good thing Jesus doesn’t follow our silly rules.

I’m sure that the Pope believes he speaks for God, and I bet that many people believe that too. Interesting though, that some within the Vatican believe that:

“[the Pope's decision] could be a question of internal church politics or a message to certain theologians it did not want to singe out.”

Politics huh? Well, being that the Pope is human, he certainly is influenced by politics (not very heavenly and certainly not from God). Some will contend that the Pope is above politics, but that’s just wishful thinking.

In the end, the Catholic church that the Pope is trying to create reminds me of the Pharisees’ temple establishment. He is creating walls and trying to put forth a “holy” prescription for salvation, one that values exclusion and limits Christ’s power.

I have lost all respect for this politically influenced human.
